New Hampshire brides, a quote by Henry Ward Beecher

“When there is love in the heart there are rainbows in the eyes, which cover every black cloud with gorgeous hues.”

Robert Ortiz Photography welcomes you.

Hello. I am Robert Ortiz and welcome to my  blog. I am thrilled and excited to bring my photographic passion into your life.  I love all the beauty that life has to offer and I’m told that’s exactly what I show in my photography work. I also love people. Yes, even the grumpy ones. That’s because people are  as  diverse and colorful as the shades and hues found in rainbows.  Living in a Latin household helps you understand how important the “human connection” is; even the men hug when they greet each other. It’s this “human connection” that I find most appealing. It is the “Human connection” that kept me going and questioning. I got interested in photography at an early stage and how it happened is just as intriguing. It was slightly after I was born, September 6, 1959, when my parents decided to part ways. My mom stayed in Miami, Florida. My dad, took a chance on the new regime in Cuba and flew back to the island hoping for a better new way of life. I guess it was the need for “human connection” and a missing parent that prompted me to search for who I was. In my quest, I came across the only two things my dad left behind. Both of them turned out to be my passions in life. Finding my dad’s old 45 RPM records was the first of my treasures. Finding old 8 MM movies and hundreds of his photographs taken with an old brownie was the other. Till this day, I own thousands of CDs of all types. As for the old pictures, well you can say I turned a search for my identity into a career. I bought a small rangefinder camera at age 15 and my insatiable appetite for photographic imagery grew. In 1979, I decided to pursue a career in photography by getting a fine arts and communications degree. In 2004, I opened Robert Ortiz Photography. So I welcome you to the world through the eyes of Robert Ortiz. It is a passionate world filled with brides and dads shedding tears, smiling teenagers, and the innocent chubby faces of four year olds. Please  come down to meet me and we may just enjoy drinking a cup of Cuban coffee together. Enjoy.  Robert M Ortiz
